The story of Alutria is that she was a deity, shamed and thrown out of all the heavens due to an arguement she had with Chronos during his reign (i.e. pre-the Olympians). Chronos would rather have forgotten the incident so it was left to disappear into time, along with any memory of Alutria. He banishes her to Eternity, a fourth dimension, a world where everything is the same, things 'be' they do not 'become', there is no identity and where nothing can perish. After her effective banishment she is confined to float around on an island in time, a void like space with no reason, no sense of anything, purely nothing and only a few servants and Laverna for company. When the senshi begin to play around with the timelines for their own devices, Alutria finds a way out into the world of the Zodiacs. She soon discovers their true being and a link from the senshi to the mythologies and to Chronos. Her vengeance is to seize control of the world, to disrupt Chronos' sphere of influence, Time, and to destroy those who effectively destroyed her.
Alutria
While being incredibly vindictive and merciless, nothing Alutria does is not without pre-meditation. She thinks her ideas through clearly and with her strength as a deity, is a greatly formidable opponent. She uses the advantages gifted to her, the portal to Togenkyou means that the Minus Waves affecting the land give her a supply of youkai minions to cross between planes and relentlessly attack the senshi in addition to her own demons and stolen beasts from the aeons of time. She also is adept to use her daughter, although Alutria does feel a certain amount of anger when Laverna acts on her own will.
Laverna
pre-note: she was originally a harpie, after researching she is going to be a Keres instead as the Keres seem alot more like the Laverna I have created than a harpie. Also she is not the Roman goddess, her name is inspired from that goddess of thievery
Laverna, the last remaining Keres of Greek lore. She is believed to be Alutria's daughter although a genetic link is never confirmed, nevertheless the two act out a grotesque mother/daughter relationship. Laverna lives on a small part of Alutria's island, a rocky outcrop as a perch to stare aimlessly at the void like space of time. She is viciously cruel, lacking the evil driven cunning of her mother, but enjoys inflicting torturous games upon her victims. Laverna loves to play despite Alutria's disapproval, her first visit to the Zodiacs is upon her own impetus and her power shocks the Sailors etc. into a few weeks off-battle.
Laverna is a Keres, creatures who personified violent deaths and represented its inevitability. Laverna, like the other Keres craves human blood and relies upon humans for her food. Although mainly a Keres, Laverna also has the blood of a Siren which gives her the looks and ability to easily lure her prey. She can assume a regular appearance but is seen mainly as a bird-like creature with golden wings wrapped around a black-clad body and long blonde hair.
SPOILERS: Who is Amelia? (Highlight to read)
Amelia, quite simply put, is Laverna's sister. Strangely while Laverna has divine powers, Amelia could be seen as fairly normal with the exception of her appearance. She is as old as Laverna, born into the age of Chronos. There she lived as a citizen; a maiden, but she was despised and treated warily because of her frightening pallor. Amelia's skin colour is very pale, over time it has become whiter but with her blonde hair, violet eyes and pale skin, she somewhat stoodout among the citizens of Ancient Greece. Laverna and Amelia rarely saw each other, it was easy enough for Amelia to forget she had a sister, and in some aspects she was quite thankful to.
When Alutria was banished to Eternity following her argument with Chronos, Laverna was banned along with her but Amelia was not. Laverna forever held on to a hope of escaping Eternity, or finding a way out of its nightmarish madness. As she was banished, she contacted her sister spiritually, forcing a spiritual link upon Amelia which incorporated some of Laverna's soul. Effectively this gave Amelia a sense of immortality in her soul. She remained alive throughout the ages, and not allowed to age by her sister's soul keeping her as she ever was. Amelia was lonely though, and naturally as throughout time she was still excluded for her pallor and increasingly she became even whiter and weaker. Her eyes stood out more as a colour contrast against her skin.
Eventually, due to the senshi disrupting time, Laverna received her wish and a route out of Eternity, but her use for Amelia was not yet finished. She knew her winged appearance would never be accepted so she began to use Amelia as her physical carrier, taking over the remnants of Amelia's soul to challenge the senshi. Amelia's worn out body deteriorated rapidly, Laverna's response was to allow her to rest until needed and buried her sister. Utterly remorseless in her actions, Laverna would continue to use the living corpse of Amelia, ensuring she kept Amelia's soul alive. Then Amelia found something (while Laverna occupied her body) to keep her soul alive of her own free will. She fell in love with Quatre, and formed a close friendship with him. On his part Quatre did like Amelia as a friend. Unfortunately, Laverna developed the same feelings (as if they now shared brains). In the end, Laverna's strength would succeed her sister's and when Amelia resisted allowing her body to go to 'rest', Laverna forced her physical self out of Amelia's physical self and resulted in Amelia's death, right in front of Quatre.
