Excuse me please one more drink

She was gone. Gone. Said she was going to the bathroom, but she never came back.

It's that damn Logan. He took her. Took her away from me, away from the rest of "The Chronicle," her job, her life.

And me.

I had loved her. No, not in that passionate, sexy kind of "I love you" way, but in the best friend of way. That's what she was. My best friend.

And now she was gone.

Could you make it strong cause I don't need to think

And here I am now, at the same bar where I've been sitting for the past three hours, although it was only a half hour ago when I awoke out of my stupor to actually order a drink.

And hell, it was just what I needed.

Drowning my sorrows, that's what I was doing. Family had always taught me that problems would never go away if I drank.

I don't care much at the moment; I just want to drink.

She broke my heart my Grace is gone

She probably didn't think I owned the picture. The one of the soldier kissing the nurse after D-Day or something in World War II, I can't remember at the moment. I was cleaning out my apartment today and I found it.

And she was on it.

She was only gone for…damn, was it only two weeks? Nobody at "The Chronicle" took her absence very seriously. Even Donald thought that it was just another abduction, and I guess that's what I believed too.

Until that picture came up…with her and Logan…

One more drink and I'll be gone

"Hey, Wes," said Tucker, entering the bar, a serious expression on his face. "Have you been here this whole time? I've been looking for you forever, man."

Wes turned to his friend as he sat down next to him. "Hey, Tuck B," he said, putting on a smile. "What's up?"

"Donald gave us a heads-up on this new company, they might be willing to let us work there. They need a reporter and a photographer…"

Wes looked into his drink as Tucker rattled off about the new job. He didn't know; Donald didn't know; nobody but Wes and Logan knew the real whereabouts of Grace. Wes didn't want to tell anyone, they'd begin a mad search for her in hopes that by some chance she was still alive.

"So, do you want it?" asked Tucker, wrapping up his conversation.

Wes turned back to his friend. "I don't know, I'll think about it," he said. "Just let me have one more drink and then we can go home."

"I think I'll join you on that," said Tucker, waving down the bartender.

I'll move on, thought Wes as he took a long gulp of his drink. Just after this drink.

One more drink and I'll move on
