The National Community Pharmacists Association has joined with Hoffmann-La Roche to offer compliance and educational support to patients taking the prescription weight loss drug Xenical (orlistat). "Roche recently launched a major direct-to-consumer advertisin program in support of Xenical," said NCPA president John Carson. "In conjunction with that, NCPA is pleased to assist Roche in introducing to the nation's independent pharmacists a new weight loss support program for patients taking Xenical." Roche will give participating pharmacists shelf-talkers, enrollment forms and other in-store materials. Roche is also offering pharmacists three 2.5-hour continuing education programs on obesity management.
