I write to speak of future events
That I'm more pissed off about then what happened in the past
Having the mick drink a beer when he's thirty
Holding his kid and being a good father
Hearing him tell me im a fucking tool for marrying some girl from Mexico
Telling me that he's done all of the girls in the bridal shower at my wedding
And the most important thing that I think is gonna break my heart
When he tells me that it was ok for me to move away from New Jersey twenty years ago
As he is sitting on my porch in San Diego drinking a Tecate
And laughing at the fact that my kids have very tan skin
But these can only be ficticous memories that will never happen but in my mind
Because twenty years from now,
I'll toast that Tecate to him
Like he was standing right next to me
