Seasonal Affective Disorder
Hello, welcome to our section on SAD. Our reasons for creating this special section
on Sad was two fold.
First being, one of our founders suffers from a severe form of Seasonal Affective Disorder
( SAD ) and secondly, we know there are thousands of others out there, who suffer
with this disorder and both need and want support, not ppl telling them to
"get over it" or "its all in your head".
It is our desire to create a weekly chat support group, supply you with new and
updated information as we locate it and give you a list of excellent, personaly
selected links where you can get more indepth information on SAD and treatment
options in both Canada and the United States.

Does your mood drop in the fall, like the leaves from a tree?
Do you suddenly find your no longer in control of you thoughts or feelings?
Are you finding yourself full of fatigue and apathy once fall arrives?
Are you sleeping more then usual as the day light gets shorter?
Are you finding you crave sweets more in the fall and winter?
Are you a social butterfly all spring and summer yet avoid people once fall sets in?
Do you find your depressed in the fall and winter yet feel fine once spring arrives?

If you said yes to some or all of the above questions, you may be suffering from
SAD.
SAD comes in different dagrees, from mild, better known as winter blues, to severe,
which can be totaly debilitating.

The symptoms of SAD are similar to other forms of depression and other illnesses.
It is never wise to self diagnose so please, even if your sure you are suffering from SAD,
we highly recommend you seek professional diagnosis from your family physician if
you are experiencing these symptoms.
