Shrines

Shrines are neat, because they can be devoted to most anything. Usually they contain pictures, and colors that you like, and things that you have collected. They are very similar to Shadow boxes.

(L) I made this one for my mother-in-law who likes mermaids. We had collected some of the rocks and shells at the beach. And I was finally able to use the sparkly painted earrings.

(R) This shrine is made from an altoid tin. I made the devil guy from sculpey and he turned out rather well. I also used neon glitter. The mary tag is pretty neat too.

(L) This is my romance novel shadow box. I used a cover from an old harlequin from the 70's. I especially like how well the glitter turned out. I covered all the inside walls.

(R) This shrine is made from a dollhouse cabinet. This is what everyone made at the first craft party. I made mine with the Anima Sola image. Dana came up with the good idea of gluing rhinestones to the bottom to make it look like a mosaic.

(L) This is my Mary box. I made the box out of balsa wood, decopaged the back, and added some roses, sparkly plastic stuff, and a candle stuck in a bottle cap.

(R) This is my Blue Hawaii Elvis shrine. Its made from a pencil box that turned out not to be the best box to make it from. The dye from the original cover seeped through the paint and left a pinkish halo. It was awful, I had to sand the box. Finally I was able to paint over it.
