PREHISTORIC BOD-MOD IN JAPAN
The Jomon period in Japan is still shrouded in mystery, but it seems that
people modified themselves a lot, as the skull here shows.
Other evidence is given by figurines from all over Japan,
that it seems not only permanent but also ritualistic, temporary
mods were done, likely for shamanistic trance rituals to get connected to
