Last year’s reunion was a great success once again, despite the wind and cool temperature.
Since I’ve already started this year’s newsletter, remember to send me snippets as they occur. That way, important news won’t be overlooked at the last minute. Thanks once more to everyone who contributed to the newsletter – everyone seems to enjoy sharing in each others’ lives and we get to know one another better this way. It’s also a means for those who can’t make it to the reunion to keep up just a little.
Over the past several years, we’ve lost some of our key family members. This past year, a couple of people asked me if I thought people would continue to come to the reunion now that the “older” generation is leaving us. My response is this: IF family is important, we need to keep this reunion going – and growing – NOW! It’s more important than ever now, because if we lose touch with one another now, we’ll never be able to get it back. I’m making a special appeal here and now to the younger generation – KEEP IT GOING! If you find the reunions a little boring right now, bring a friend (or two), bring a kite, bring a book or game, get involved and help organize some games for the younger kids… In other words, use your imagination and make it fun any way you can, but keep going! This is your family!
Here are some pictures from last year’s reunion… enjoy. Mark your calendar now for this fall... it's always the 3rd Saturday in October. Hope to see you there! |
