| I am currently compiling a Civil War
Roster of the men and women who served
during the civil war regardless of which
side of the conflict they served. I am
especially interested in documenting the
men who were taken as prisoners by Gen.
Sherman and his forces when they marched
through Chesterfield in March 1865. Many
civilians were taken captive including my
g-g-grandfather. Many of these men died
while imprisoned. I would like the full
name of your civil war ancestor along
with the unit in which he served, his
rank and any other pertinent information
you may have. I would also like copies of
any documents that you may have to share.
I will gladly pay for copying these
documents. My intent is to write a book
about our Civil War ancestors. I
currently have 400+ names in my Civil War
