A machine-quilted Nine Patch quilt made by my great-grandmother, Grace Thompson for my mother in the 1940s or 1950s.












This is a Nine Patch quilt made by Grace Thompson (my mother's paternal grandmother) for my mother, Christa Cooper in 1940. It's not really quilted, instead, heavy string was knotted through the quilt. You can see this if you look at the last picture on the page, which is of the back of the quilt and shows two of the knots.
