Well, there you have it! After much agony, some consensus, and a little deliberation, we have come up with the 2002 Reunion plans. I am sure this is not going to make everyone happy, but maybe you can have the next one where and when you want to have it. We took some ideas from Overseas Brats publication and leads and desires of some of you that took the time to recommend sites for the Reunion and concluded that the above location and time would probably save us from the firing squad! The most popular option being considered was a 3 or 5 night cruise on either the West or the East Coast. They were very appealing and much less hassle to organize and set up, however, costs and flexibility made it prohibitive … at least for this go-round. Our objective focused on trying to get as many attendees as possible. As far as location, many e-mails and actual visits to the West Coast and discussions with alumni there made the location decision easy. The East Coast was the desired option. Then, the place was the hardest part … in that cruise options were either from New York or from Florida. That caused logistics nausea as well as added costs. Sites such as Asilomar and or Episcopalian-like sponsored locations had the same problems. Events on a cruise was a no-brainer since we would all be captive and unless they supplied individual lifeboats for escape, we would be enjoying whatever the ship offered. With a little head scratching we came up with the idea of having the best of each of the options. Old Town Alexandria, Virginia is a very scenic and historic site with a lot to do and see. The Metro connection provides a hike and  access to downtown D.C., it would be the Cherry Blossom season with a lot of festivities. There are large boats that provide dinner and music as they cruise the Potomac River. And, the entertainment for Friday night is going to include a buffet dinner and dancing to the sounds of one of our very own, Roy Sewall (Class of ’62) and his 60’s Rock & Roll band.
