Timeline: A few months after the gift...

Authors notes: This fic series will go between two worlds. Here's my version of what happened after the gift... I admitt it I'm completely hung up in Pylea... Iwry happened a season after than it did in the show...

- How is it possible, Cordelia asked. - Buffy's dead. This baby's only a few days old. Even a premature one would be bigger. They said that she's been born, just like every baby is?

- Yeah, but I don't get how.

- So she was pregnant when she died, Wesley asked.

- Yeah. I asked Willow and she told me.

- Why hadn't she said that earlier?

- Because she thought it would be harder for me. Buffy never said who was the father of the baby, and there was noone that could be candidate. Everyone in the gang had figured that I was the father and that Buffy didn't want to admit it. They never confronted her about it.

- So you're saying that Buffy was pregnant and then she died and now the baby somehow got born and you have custody, Gunn asked.

- Yeah.

- You're right, that doesn't add up.

- Wait a minute, Wesley said. - Her soul…

- Wes, what are you talking about?

- After the body dies the soul goes to an other place. Her baby died too, so it went with her to wherever she went and continued to grow in her new physical body.

- Wes, have you any idea how strange that sounded, Cordelia asked. - Soul traveling, a new physical body..? The fact is that she's plane dead.

- Not necessarily. The ancient texts says something about how the soul's immortal. You never kill the soul, it just goes somewhere else. Angel, when you became a vampire your soul didn't die, it just went somewhere else, but as your body still continued it didn't take a new one, but was kind of on stand-by until it was restored. Because of these texts the Christians created heaven and hell, made a specific place you ended after you die, but the truth is that you neither go to heaven or hell, but somewhere that's different. In some ways better and others worse. And wherever you go, you need a body to continue and that's where the new physical body part comes in. Usually, the baby dies before the mother and therefore circles around to get a new start in life, but in those cases where they die at the same time, they go with each other. That must have been what happened here. Buffy's somewhere else. Physical dead here, but in some other dimension, she's living.

- Why haven't you said anything about this before, Wes, Angel asked, almost to tears.

- Because I always figured them to be a myth, but when you came back with that baby, I understood that they are actually the truth.
