EXPERIENCE & LEVEL
GAIN:
Gaining XP:
Experience will be handed out at the successful (or
unsuccessful) completion of any adventure – an adventure
will be enough message threads to comprise a story with a
reasonable beginning, middle and end. Killing things is not a
prerequisite for getting XP – as 3E explains, simply
solving a problem and overcoming obstacles towards a goal is
enough to earn the XP for the encounters/challenge. Of course,
this is Hyboria and you are a raucous lot of barbarians and
warriors and occult wizards, so it's likely you will shed blood
anyway! <G>
Gaining Levels: You may
multiclass, but I want to see solid reasons for why you take or
increase another class with XP.
Hit Point Gains:
Dice are not rolled to gain new hit points. Instead, you
gain a set amount of HP based off your HD type, per level
(adding CON bonus, if any):
HD
Type HP Gain/Level 1d12 +7 hp 1d10 +6 hp 1d8 +5
hp 1d6 +4 hp 1d4 +3 hp
If you are interested, the
formula for the hp gain is: [Max number of hp rollable on the
HD]/2 +1
This gives you a slightly greater-than-average
HP gain than the Living Grayhawk system in use as a DND option.
