Back on our regular night, we ar epleased to bring you this comedy from far, far away.

Summary

A Science project results in the discovery that 'sitcom loving aliens will be arriving in Hollywood tonight to meet their favorite stars'. The young creators of the project take the aliens on a tour of the stars homes where they meet Milton Berle, enjoy a meal out and finally, they invite several former vaudevillian performers to do a private showing before the aliens return to their home planet.

Commentary

With this weak premise, how can we expect anything. That may be the reason this entry stands up on it's own, but, it is difficult to not see its charms. Balaban (Gershwin's Trunk, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Parents Dir.) steps behind the camera here and shows a wonderful eye and respect for comedy. The cameo by Milton Berle, although brief, shows why he is a legend in television. The 'potato-like' alien heads are very expressive and the alien interpretations of earth sitcoms are very fun.
