   The best path in Kaliyuga to attain liberation is "Harinama Bhajan" said, experienced seers of this Baratha Varsha.

   Purandaradasa affirmed with assurance that crores of Janma ( A cycle of birth and death ) get liberated by the chanting of Hari Nama.

"NamaGetha Utavuti : Hoya Samsara Seethvti Namaparathe Sadhana Nahee"

   Get up chanting the name of the Lord without which there is no salvation for us in Kaliyuga emphasized Saint Thukaram.

   Saint Thyagaraja in his memorable song "Chakkani Raja" called the people to follow the kingly path of Nama Sankeerthan, and eschew the narrow by-lanes of other modes of worship.

   "Kalau Sankeerthya Kesavam" said Suka Maharishi again forcing the ideal of Nama Sankeerthanam, as the only path for salvation in Kaliyuga.

   "Why are you still sleeping my dear friend - Get up" said Andal, whereby she awakened all the people from the slumber of illusion and asked them to join the chorus of Nama Sankeerthan.

"I do not stay in Vaikunta; nor in the hearts of Yogis - I stand listening to the Nama Sankeerthan of my devotees; wherever they sing in praise of Me" affirmed the Lord.

   These words of experienced seers, make it clear that the Nama Sankeerthan is the easiest but an important and effective path to attain liberation from the worldly bondage in Kaliyuga.

   This provides the reason for many Bhagawathas descending to this world in Kaliyuga and we find more Bhagawathas in Kaliyuga than any other Yuga.

   Chaithanya Maha Prabhu, Meera Bai, Kabirdas, Thukaram, Nivrithi, Gnaneshwar, Sopan, Muktha Bai, Sakku Bai, Gorakumbar, Narsingh Mehta are few to mention about the saints of the North.

   Purandaradasa, Kanakadasa, Andal, Azhwar saints, Nayanmars, Pattinathadigal, Ramalinga Swamigal, Thiagaraja Swamigal and the list continues with innumerable persons in the South.

   All these devotees of the Lord, understood the efficacy of Nama Sankeerthan and they practiced in their lives and earned the heavenly bliss. They not only got themselves benefited by their "Nama Sankeerthan" but they were responsible to show us a path to liberate ourselves - how great they are.

   The way of life set up by these devotees did not go in vain. Their way of life, preaching and efforts taken by them had made an impact in the generation that followed them.
