GOOD NEWS
PEACE And LIFE
God is good, a loving God who does not want any to perish. His desire is to save men, not destroy them. God wants us to have peace and an abundant life.
THE BIBLE SAYS...
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9
...Who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth.” 1 Timothy 2:4
Therefore having been justified by faith, we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1
...I came that they might have LIFE, and might have it abundantly.” John 10:10
YET VERY FEW KNOW THIS PEACEFUL, ABUNDANT LIFE THAT GOD DESIRES FOR ALL; BUT THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH GOD...
SIN
ALL MEN ARE SINNERS, AND SIN SEPARATES US FROM A HOLY GOD.
We hear many romantic things about our hearts. The Bible says that at the very core of our being something wrong. There is a strong impulse in our human nature that insists on putting ourselves first, and God second. When we break one of God's rules, even in thought we have “sinned” or “committed a crime” against God.
“SIN” IS INSISTING ON HAVING ONE'S OWN WAY.
THE BIBLE SAYS...
The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick.” Jeremiah 17:9
All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.” Isaiah 53:6
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
As it is written, there is none righteous, not even one.” Romans 3:10
NOW THE FRIGHTENING THING THE BIBLE TEACHES IS THAT THERE IS A TERRIBLE CONSEQUENCE AWAITING THOSE WHO SIN.
DEATH
THE PENALTY FOR MAN'S SIN IS DEATH
Man through the ages has tried to bridge the gap in many ways...without success...
DEATH MEANS SEPARATION
1. Spiritual Death: separation of man’s spirit from God
2. Physical Death: separation of soul and body
3. Second Death: separation forever from the presence of God (Hell)
THE BIBLE SAYS...
The soul who sins will die.” Ezekiel 18:4
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
...dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. And these will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.” 2 Thessalonians 1:8 - 9
...The rich man also died and was buried. And in Hades (Hell) he lifted up his eyes, being in torment...he cried out and said...I am in agony in this flame.” Luke 16:22-24
HELL IS THE MOST HORRIBLE REALITY THAT A HUMAN MIND CAN CONCEIVE! PRAISE GOD, THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO STOP WITH THE BAD NEWS. NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS!
(That's what “gospel” means, “good news”.)
The CROSS
CALVARY IS GOD'S ONLY PROVISION FOR MAN'S SIN
Christ became our substitute. He died in OUR place. Christ exchanged His righteousness for our sins so that when we place our trust in Him, ALONE, we can exchange our sins for His righteousness. “I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died needlessly.” Galatians 2:21
THE BIBLE SAYS...
...knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold...but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ.” 1 Peter 1:18 & 19
But god demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
...and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24
For Christ also died for sins, ONCE for ALL...” 1 Peter 3:18
IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO HAVE SOME FACTS ABOUT CHRIST AND HIS DEATH SWIMMING AROUND IN OUR MINDS SOMEWHERE.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE?
EXERCISE SAVING FAITH
YOU MUST CLAIM BY PERSONAL CHOICE TO RELY EXCLUSIVELY UPON CHRIST’S WORK ON THE CROSS TO BE SUFFICIENT PAYMENT FOR ALL YOUR SIN. SAVING FAITH INVOLVES:
Choice: laying hold personally, upon God's promise.
Trust: This is our responsibility to rely upon the blood of Christ as sufficient payment for the penalty of all our sins.
“Being fully assured that what (God) has promised, He was able also to perform.”
Romans 4:21
THE BIBLE SAYS...
But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness.” Romans 4:5
Therefore having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.” Romans 5:9
If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” Romans 10:9

GOD WANTS YOU TO:
1. RECOGNIZE THAT YOU ARE A LOST SINNER
Take your place, right now, before God as a lost, hell-deserving sinner; absolutely powerless to lift a finger to save yourself (through religious exercise or moral reformation).
2. RECOGNIZE THE DEITY OF JESUS CHRIST
The Bible teaches that the term “Son of God”, which Jesus used to describe Himself, meant that He was EQUAL with the Father. The Bible also teaches that Christ always existed, that He created the things that exist, and that He put off His Godly power to become a “man” to die for sinful mankind. Three days later He resurrected bodily. Although He was tempted in all ways, He was without sin in thought, word, or deed.
3. RECOGNIZE JESUS CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS FORYOUR SINS
Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who shed His precious blood at Calvary to pay the full penalty for YOUR sins. He became YOUR substitute - in order to become YOUR Savior.
4. PERSONALLY CLAIM SALVATION
Claim by faith ALONE the free gift of eternal life which God promises you for placing your hope in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Your faith in His suffering will save YOU from eternal suffering in HELL.
HAVING DONE THIS, GOD GIVES YOU TREMENDOUS....
ASSURANCE
from HIS WORD, the HOLY BIBLE
When you become saved from the penalty of your sins, you acquire ETERNAL LIFE and it is ETERNAL, FOREVER, you cannot lose it. You have been “BORN AGAIN” according to God’s Word, the Bible. This is the “second birth” and there are only two. You cannot be “unborn”.
Yes, you will battle with sin, but sins can NEVER separate you from your Savior. Jesus died for ALL your sins, not most, but ALL.
God has GIVEN us ETERNAL LIFE, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. These things I have written to you who BELIEVE in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may KNOW that you have ETERNAL LIFE.” 1 John 5:11-13

We truly hope that you have taken the time to read this booklet in its entirety and look up the verses in your own Bible. The GIFT of eternal life that God promises to all of us who "BELIEVE" (trust ALONE), has been "PAID IN FULL" by His Son, Jesus Christ. A "gift" is given ...not "earned". Now, what can you possibly offer God to earn your own way, that is better than the price that has already been paid?
