From WRATH To GLORY
What happens to you before salvation?
1. You are an enemy of God. Romans 5:10
2. You are in bondage to sin. John 8:34; Romans 6:17 & 18
3. You are a child of wrath, separated from God because of sins. Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:3
4. You are deceived into thinking that the sins you are enslaved to are not going to catch up to you and make you miserable. Titus 3:3; Numbers 32:23; Galatians 6:7 & 8; James 1:14 & 15
5. You are storing up wrath for yourself and on the road that leads to destruction (Hell). John 3:36; Romans 2:5; Matthew 7:13 & 14; 2 Thessalonians 1:8 & 9
6. You are blinded by Satan so you can not see the Light (or truth) of the gospel of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:3 & 4; 2 Timothy 2:26
7. God still loves you despite all the sins you commit and does not desire for you to go to hell. Instead, God wants you to change your mind and believe that Jesus's shed blood and resurrection paid the TOTAL sin debt you owe to God and gives you forgiveness for all your sins. Romans 5:8; 1 Timothy 2:3 & 4; 2 Peter 3:9; Acts 10:43; Colossians 2:13 & 14
What happens to you the moment you repent (change your mind about your sin) and put your faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross?
1. Your sin debt you owe to God was paid for and forgiven completely by the blood sacrifice of Jesus. Colossians 2:13 & 14; Hebrews 9:12; 1 Peter 1:18 & 19
2. You will never EVER have to go to hell. John 10:27-29; Romans 8:1; 8:35-39; Hebrews 10:14 & 17
3. You pass out of death into life. John 5:24; Ephesians 2:5
4. You are born again. John 3:3; 1 Peter 1:23
5. You are made into a new creature. 2 Corinthians 5:17
6. You are sealed with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 1:13, 4:30; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Romans 8:9-11
7. You are adopted into the family of God and are considered His child. Romans 8:14-16
8. You are given the righteousness of Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 3:9
9. You are positionally raised up and seated with Christ in the heavenly places. Ephesians 2:5 & 6
10. You are blessed with every spiritual blessing. Ephesians 1:3
11. You are delivered from the domain of darkness and transferred into the kingdom of God's Son, Jesus. Colossians 1:13; 1 Peter 2:9
12. You are set free from the bondage and power of sin. Romans 6:17-22; Galatians 5:13
13. You no longer belong to yourself; you are God's possession. 1 Corinthians 3:23, 6:19 & 20; Romans 14:8
14. You are given the mind of Christ, and are able to know, understand and apply God's Word to your life. 1 Corinthians 2:12-14, 16
15. You are made an ambassador for Christ and given the ministry of reconciliation, which is telling others about Christ and leading them to salvation by faith in the shed blood and resurrection of Jesus Christ, for the forgiveness of all their sins. 2 Corinthians 5:16 & 20
What is expected of you as a child of God?
1. Learn about God through His Word and grow as a baby Christian, keeping your heart pure. Psalm 1:1-3, 119:9 & 11; Ephesians 4:15; 2 Timothy 2:15; 1 Peter 2:1-3; 2 Peter 3:18
2. Learn what is pleasing to the Lord using His Word, the Bible, as your manual of guidelines for living. Ephesians 5:10; 2 Thessalonians 2:15-17; 2 Timothy 3:16
3. Walk in the influence and control of the Spirit of God. Galatians 5:16; Ephesians 5:18
4. Confess (apologize) your sins to God the moment you commit them so you can be in fellowship with Him. James 4:5-10
5. Make Jesus the Lord (Master) of every area of your life, obeying all that He has commanded you to do. (Remember, the Lord created the earth and universe, Colossians 1:16. His ways of doing things are ALWAYS the right way, (Hosea 14:9). Matthew 16:24; 1 Peter 3:15; 1 John 2:3-6, 5:2 & 3
6. Walk in a manner worthy of your calling. Ephesians 4:1; Colossians 1:10
7. Stop living in sin the way you used to. Romans 6:1 & 2; 1 Corinthians 15:34; 2 Timothy 2:19; 1 Peter 1:14 & 15, 4:2 & 3
8. Lay aside your old self and put on the new self. Ephesians 4:21 & 22; Colossians 3:10
9. Hold God in high respect and conduct your living in the fear of God. Psalm 111:10; Ephesians 5:21; 1 Peter 1:17
10. Realize that Jesus knows exactly what you are experiencing in your life and is able to sympathize with your weakness. Hebrews 4:15
11. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Philippians 4:13
12. Pray for all men. 1 Timothy 2:1
13. Pray for the brethren (other Christians) at all times. Ephesians 6:18
14. Pray with confidence. Hebrews 4:16; James 1:5 & 6
15. Always give thanks to God for everything. Ephesians 5:20; 1 Thessalonians 5:18
16. Trust in the Lord; rely upon Him in all areas of your life. Psalm 62:7 & 8; Proverbs 3;5-7; 2 Corinthians 1:9
17. Fellowship and study with other true Christians. 1 Timothy 4:13; Hebrews 10:25; 1 John 2:1 & 2
18. Share the Good News of Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection to everyone you can. Matthew 10:27, 28:19 & 20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:13-17; 1 Corinthians 1:17-31, 2:1 & 2; 2 Corinthians 5:20; Jude 1:22 & 23
