We threw our parents a 50th Wedding Anniversary on September 7th, 2001. (I did all the organizing, decorating, and food preparation.) Fifty guests were in attendance including several of their siblings who traveled from Kansas, Arkansas, and Maryland.
They renewed their vows and we sent them on a second Honeymoon.
My parents were originally married in Missouri, in my mom's hometown of Seymour, which she says reminds her a lot of Oberlin (minus the college). My dad was in the Air Force at the time.
The party was a big success though I have decided that becoming a party planner is NOT in my future!
I was just happy that I was healthy enough to do it. My parents are very special people to me. They have always been very supportive of everything I've ever done, and everything I've ever been through.
I'm very proud of them for having made it to such a milestone. |
