The Jubilee Christian Elementary School was founded in 1967 by
Christian Gospel Truth Foundation, Inc.- A non-stock and non-profit
corporation organized in accordance with the laws of the Philippines.
The school was established to provide Christian education to the
children of the members of the Jubilee Evangelical Church and to bring
up the pupils to the standard set forth and envisioned by the New Society.
At the time of its organization, the school was granted especial permits
by the now Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, to offer Kindergarten
and complete elementary courses. However, with its aim to maintain a high
standard of teaching, the school only offered during its first year of
operations (school year 1967-1968) Kindergarten I and IIas well as from
Grade I to Grade IV. During the school year 1968- 1969, Grade V class came
into being and Grade VI followed suit during the school year 1968-1970.
On June 14,1968, the start of the second year of operations (school year
1968-1969) the Kindergarten Departement was granted the recognition by the
then Department of Education now Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports,
as evidence by the Certificate of Recognition No. 124. Eventually, on
June 13, 1973, at the start of school year 1973-1974 (its seventh year)
the elementary department was granted recognition by the MECS by virtue of
the Certificate of Gevernment Recognition No. 111.
The institution occupies a wooden building erected on a parcel of land
cevering an area approximately measuring 1.097 square meters situated within
St. Jude compound along Matienza Street, San Miguel, Manila. Said property
is owned by the Christian Gospel Truth Foundation, Inc. The school building
is just a Stone's throw from St. Jude Catholic School and the Malacanang
Palace in San Miguel, Manila.
The school had its first batch of elementary graduates in 1970.
Upon the proclamation of Martial Law in 1972, tight security measures adopted
by the Presidential Security Command around Malacanang area brought a lot of
apprehensions and inconveniences especially during the rainy season. The
teaching staff, parents and students were greatly affected. Aggravated by
inadequate space brought about by growing student population, the Board of
Trustees of the Foundation decided to look for a new site. In finding a new
location, the school authorities were guided by the following guidelines a.)
the area must be four times larger than the area of the present location b.)
the environment must be conducive in providing a healthy atmosphere for the
students and c.) the location must be accessible to public transportation.
With determined efforts coupled by fervent prayers and with the aid of the
Divine Providence, the foundation was to acquire a parcel of land with an area
of 4,881 square meters bounded by Dona Hemady Avenue 3rd and 4th Streets,
New Manila, Quezon City. Praise the Lord, the location is geographically ideal.
the present site is just a block from Aurora Boulevard, a main thoroughfare
connecting Manila to the east and Cubao, Quezon City to the west. It is also
accessible to San Juan and Mandaluyong municipalities as well as the City of M
akati to the south. The school was moved to its present location in New Manila,
Quezon City after the construction of the new building was completed in
May, 1980. As desired, the school was granted a special permit to operate its
High School Department during the school year 1980-81. As planned, the school
was permitted to operate up to second year high school in 1981-1982 and
third year high school during the school year 1982-1983. The first high school
commencement exercises took place on March 25, 1984, with the acting director
Nestor B. Borbon of the Bureau of Youth Affairs, Foreign Students and
Foreign School, Minisrty of Education, Culture and Sports, as guest of honor.
it coincided with the 15th elementary graduation rites turned out to be
spiritually meaningful, socially relevant and basically educational. The
first batch of high school students successfully hurdled the NCEE with 100%
of those students from this school passing the said examination. 99+% was
the highest score obtained and 93%, the lowest mark received.
The school administration is being efficiently managed by experienced and
dedicated educators who are joining hands in the upliftment of
Christian Education.
