Damn you WIN32/PARITE

Kolyn Mikalson (Aja)

In this situation, theres really only a few things I can say. GARRR, ARGHH, GAHHHH. Don't you just hate it when your computer gets all virused up, and you have to erase the entire hard drive, and you were only able to save 1.35 MB of your 200+ MB of stuff? I'm guessing most of you haven't this happen to you, but I unfortunately did.

My good friend, the virus which goes by the unimaginative name of "WIN32/PARITE", somehow downloaded itself onto my computer at some point. It then proceeded to infect as many programs as possible with its pathetic insturctions.

All this stupid virus does, is copy itself. That is the full extent of its code. I mean, if i were maing a virus, I'd mae it do something more interesting, like delete any files with the letter "r" in their filename. I dunno, something CREATIVE, not just "Go forth, and duplicate thyself". So very pathetic.

So we do the viruscan and discover that we have 420 copies of the virus on this computer. 420 out of some 12000 odd files, not bad its only 3.5% no problem right? WRONG. It just so happens that these particular 420 files are the programs required to run the computer properly, I roll my eyes and mutter the familiar "happiness and joy" to myself in an exasperated tone. The entire damn thing has to be wiped, I can save some files but i have the grand total of a single 3.5 inch floppy at my disposal (afterwards I found 6 more), and I have over 200 MB of crap that I would like to be able to save. So i start grabbing things, not many images, to large; I need the midis, those can't be replaced; whew, the website is all online; damnit, outa space.

I managed to get 1.35 MB. I know i shouldbe happy that I could save that, my brother's computer was infected too and all he could save was his 1.38 GB of MP3's. But I saved my song lyrics and stuff, so I'm semi-happy. Got my icons that I spent a good day (I mean 24 hours) making and never finished.

I just really wish these people would not make the bloody viruses in the first place. I'd like to see one of these virus-makers get himself infected and (strong bad moment) DELETED! They bloody well deserve it. But, until I can find them and kill them, I'll just sit here, become uber-paranoid, and petition the GRAND IMP to protect my system.

"The darkness has come. No, wait, my eyes were closed."
