The Goldfields of Western Australia is home to the largest population of feral goats anywhere in the world. The population is estimated to be in excess of 70 million and growing rapidly! It is not uncommon to see herds of 100 - 200 animals at a time, although 40 - 50 is more the norm. They have had a fair amount of lead thrown their way and so they are very weary. Although goats are not difficult to hunt in comparison with say Red Deer, they don't just stand around waiting to be shot either. But with the right gun, the correct amount of skill, and permission form the right property owner, a hunter can take as many as he is able. The Goldfields then, truly is "goats unlimited".
