Wargamers Recognition

By Paul Hooper

It has come to the attention of one of the elder brothers that some of the members of the club are having difficultly recognising some of the normal items that should be in a wargamers arsenal. To aid these (Warhonker) members we set out below a definition of various items below.

Paint: A coloured liquid that normally comes in little pots, it is available in a variety of colours and is normally applied to the outside of wargaming figures by using a paint brush. (qv) Note that if you a warhonker player then paint is available in the shops run by the Evil Empire, but they are normally called things like Snot Green, Turd Brown, etc If you require advice on paint then please see any of the older brothers except Gary who believes that paint only comes in Lime Green.

Paint Brush: A stick about three to five inches long with a soft end and a hard end. The soft end is inserted into the paint (after removing the lid). The soft end will then be covered in the paint and it is then applied to the figure. WARNING, do not use the hard end to apply the paint. The hard end is for sucking, cleaning out your ears, poking up the nose of an opponent etc.

Unpainted Figures: These are used to decorate the inside of boxes that sit at home on your shelves, they should never be seen on a wargames table and should never be played with until paint has been applied as above. Normally they should be recycled in a bring and buy sale two to three years after purchase.

We hope the above has been helpful to the members of the club and if any member would like to see an actual pot of paint or a paint brush then please feel free to contact either of the Pauls and we will be happy to bring them along to the club.
