Why Are 99.9% Of Wargamers Men??? Auntie Finds Out!!!By Auntie JulianWell, as you might expect it has a lot to do with Hormones, (no please no jokes)!! Testosterone, makes men aggressive in order to hunt to survive, eg Tesco's, Sainsburys, and of course at any Bring and Buy. Any small boy will be able to remember the violent scenes in any TV programme, as they are learning by their instincts to protect and survive. Any women who have high levels of Testosterone should be avoided for obvious reasons. Men also like to compete, again as a basic instinct. All wargaming is a competition, as players move their forces to kill out manoeuvre, and beat the enemy and the opposing player. Even building armies or finding loop holes in the rules has that competitive element, with either making a super army, (eg Gary or Gareth), or trying to make a crap army almost average (eg. Mike, Paul Mileham, or Paul Hooper). Men like logical problem solving activities mending the car, tinkering with the motor-bike, or learning, playing and controlling armies, with all the facts of history, and rule sets. We also like collecting and playing with things, (or even THEIR things). Toy soldiers are ideal, and which of us doesn't have large quantities of lead at home. Women might collect things connected with their image, eg shoes, clothes, boyfriends, but very few like the collecting element that most of us are involved in. SEE I TOLD YOU IT WAS ALL ABOUT BOL#**S
