Taxing Times
By Gary Lyon
You may have noticed the recent publicity about proposed new taxes. Even
wargaming is not exempt and several new taxes have been proposed. Rumours
that many of these taxes emanate from Martham have been strongly denied
by the member for Yarmouth North.
- PAT
- Plastic added tax. A levy to be added to any plastic figures. There
will be an exempt category for historical Airfix figures (PHART)
-
- GAWD ELP
- Games Workshop Demand for Extra Levy on Production. If there's money
to be made the Nottingham mafia will have their fingers in the pie at
some time.
-
- FU TO
- Figures (unpainted) Toll. To be charged whenever unpainted figures
are used
-
- FART
- Fantasy added (reducing) tax. Charged on fantasy figures and on a
scale commensurate with that of the figures. 54mm and larger would be
at the top end of the scale where as the less noticeable (and more paintable)
2mm would attract a lower level of duty.
