PerseveranceBy DenWell, this is a short article making the case for perseverance. Not perseverance with work or anything like that but perseverance with your warhammer army. As most of you know I've been putting a high elf army together for a few months now and as you know I've lost more games than I've won with them. Now lots of people have said that I should drop the army as they are almost impossible to win with but I have not done this. What I have done is trawled the net and the GW message boards getting other peoples comments & thoughts on how elf armies (high & dark elf anyway) should be used. Now that I've read all that I've found on the subject I've put together another army that puts most or at least some of these ideas into practice. Basically this has meant that I've added some decent close combat troops, given them some combat support and added a few of the obligatory missile troops. So what I have now is a faster, harder hitting elf army that can support its combat units with fast flank charges and have a decent amount of missile cover as well (just to take out those damn giants Jon!) All these changes have been achieved by dropping heroes, reducing my offensive magic to defensive magic and lowering the number of war machines I take. I may find that this army is also beaten badly, but I may find that it has the right balance that enables it to start winning - as all elf armies should! So if anyone wants a game, let me know and we'll sort one out. But if I win or not doesn't matter as I will continue to persevere with the elves until I get a winning combination and that's what I think others should do, don't give up with a difficult to use army persevere with it and learn from your mistakes and others until you get a winning army. Because if the elves can do it, any army can!
