Phototographer unknown. | The first quote pretty much sums it up...she is Flanders' girl...and boy is she special! While she didn't have quite as much talent as her mother, she definetly inherited the heart. This was never more apparent than in the 1999 Frizette Stakes. The track was muddy, and it was easy to see she wasn't enjoying it. However, in the race her mother dominated so easily five years before, she demonstrated the will to win that Flanders had shown in the Breeders' Cup. Seemingly beaten, she battled back along the rail against the talented Darling My Darling to win by a nose. The following year, she was named champion of her division, on the strength of multiple G1 victories and a 4-length romp over older males in the G2 Clark Handicap. | |||||||||||||||
