Steven Flinn talks after a 2nd
place run at Pocono
Well
done last Wednesday Steven! You had
some early electrical problems but was able to get it together for a 2nd place
finish! Did you expect to do that well
at Pocono?
A second place finish is great but to tell the truth I am
dissapointed because I was really looking forward to winning at Pocono. It is one of my best tracks.
During
the long green flag run you came from nowhere and was able to get around the
#07 car of Stratton’s. Then, shortly
after you pitted under green, the yellow came out. Did that mess up your strategy any?
Yeah, I really wanted the race to stay green the rest of
the way. I was starting to build up a
nice lead on the rest of the field and that yellow took it away.
The
end of the race was looking like it could be a shootout with only 6 laps to
go. Did you feel you could get around
the John Hayes #87 car, or were you just hoping to hold off the cars with the
newer tires that were behind both of you?
I really thought I could have passed John but he got a
great jump on the restart and that decided the race.
You
head to Michigan next week and the points are really starting to get
important. Do you think you will have a
top 5 or maybe even a winning car for there?
Although Michigan is not one of my best tracks I feel I
have a top 7 car and with a little bit of luck I could maybe steal a win.
Thanks
for your time Steven, any last comments you would like to add?
I would like to thank my sponsor Texas Networking
Solutions, Billy Stratton for running this league, and all the other guys that
make SORS East a great league.
