Steve Flinn
drives his #29 TNS Chevy to a solid 2nd place finish at Michigan!
Good job today
Steve! You have to pleased finishing your #29 Texas Networking Solutions Chevy
in 2nd today?
Yeah it was another good run
for me, I thought a few months ago I had no chance at a good finish in the
points standings, but I have made up alot of ground the last few weeks.
You qualified
on the outside of the 3rd starting row with 6th starting spot. Were you happy
with that, or disappointed?
I was a little dissappointed
with that, my car wasn't good enough for the pole but I still left some on the
track, I didn't drive through 3 and 4 as hard as I could have.
As the green
flag dropped, you proved you could run up front, and moved through the field as
ease. Did you know you had a contending car prior to the start, or no idea?
I felt like I had a car that
could run with anybody and I needed was a few good breaks and I could come away
with a win.
Having only 2
cautions the entire race for 100 laps, was that what you were looking for, or
did you want to see a few more yellows?
Well I damaged the right
side of my car around lap 30 and that hurt my performance the rest of the
day. I really needed a caution to make
repairs but I never got one.
As the
pitstops took place under green ,did you have to make any adjustments to your
car at all?
After I got the damage I had
to push my car pretty hard to keep pace with John and Billy and it made my
right front wear out. On my pit stop I
took out 3 rounds of wedge to help my tight condition but it wasn't enough.
As the laps
wore down, it could be seen the battle would between you and the #87 car. Did
you think you had anything left to catch him?
Not really, my tires were
wore out and I knew that if he ever got past me the race was over.
As of late
Steve, you’ve come home with 5 top 5 finishes in the last 5 races with a couple
of wins in there. You’ve come on strong and always with the lead pack. Have you
done anything differently after your rough start in the beginning of the
season?
I have been using some new
ideas with my setups and having confidence in myself and my car doesn't hurt
either.
Have you
changed your driving style, or done a equpiment change of late? LOL
Switching from a 56k to a
cable modem is the best thing I have done all year.
Next track up
on the schedule is Bristol at night. How does this track rate on Steve Flinn’s
track list. Favorite? So-So? Or who knows? LOL
I love the track and I love
racing there. Its a blast !
Well Steve,
Congratulations again on a impressive 2nd place finish here today at Michigan.
Thank you for taking the time to talk to us, and sharing your thoughts with our
reading audience. Any last words you’d
like to interject for we call it a interview?
LOL
Yeah, for once I would have
like to have seen more yellows in the race but everyone decided to be extra
clean this week. Thanks for nothing
guys. lol
