Gary Rydzik gets his best finish of the Season!!
Excellent run you put together Wednesday night Gary!! Did you feel like you had a good car coming into the race?
(I felt I had a good car, but I was
doubting the driver more than the car.)
3rd place is your best finish this season. How do you think you can take this and learn from it to try and put your car in the Winner’s Circle soon?
(After having 2 weeks in a row of a double self spin, My game plan for Dover was “Just finish the race”. I think that will be my main focus from here on out. Because you can’t win a race if you don’t finish it.)
The 2 yellows at the end of the race packed up the leaders and set the stage for a shoot-out. Were you happy to see the yellows, or do you think you could have done better if it would have stayed green?
(I was happy to see the yellow, because I would have had to burn up my tires to catch and pass Al and Bob. Plus I knew Al had lost 3rd gear so I thought that on the restart would be the perfect time to pass him, But he did a great job of diving down into turn one on the restart…..I knew that was my only chance because once Al got up to speed it would be very tough to pass him. As far as catching Bob…NO WAY, he was on a rail.)
You were running good all night Gary, and I hope that you can put that car up there in the Top Dog spot soon! Anyone you would like to thank?
(First I would like to thank JR Larson for helping with the set-up that took me to the end. And My brother who happened to call during a yellow, who was understanding when I told him I had to go because the green was about to drop and would explain later. I guess that is one of those ‘racing deals’ LOL, I think you all have ‘been there, done that’. And a thanks to the whole East gang for putting together a few long green flag sessions!)
