Troy!!  Fine run you put together last Wednesday!!   I guess that you still are mowing John Hayes yard after he gave you your lap back?

Well I feel really lucky that he didn’t race me real hard and I caught break with quick caution to get back on the lead lap.  You know John and Al both will race you real hard but they are quality drivers and I figured since they were so close racing with one another I wasn’t even part of the equation.  So they just let me go and I happen to catch a break.

You had a fast car all week in practice, then had the bad luck and went a lap down.  We all have been watching the forums on the web site… and I am sure that was still echoing in your head.  How did you shake off the distractions, and come back from a lap down to a 3rd place finish?

Yeah there were a few distractions this week but you really have to put that all behind you and focus on the race a hand.  If you start dwelling on the past you can never be fully focused like you need to be.  I just kept saying to myself “be patient”,  “just pick them off one at a time”.  It seemed to work out better than just trying to force my way to the front.  I knew I had a great car and I knew I could run fast but I also knew there were some really fast guys out there so I had to use more patience and pick my point to pass.  The main thing I needed was to pick up track position.  That was probably my toughest battle of the night.

Do you think your team can put a hotrod under you for Dover?

I’m sure everyone at DTBR will be working very hard on our cars for Dover.  You know Mike Steger and Mike Brazier are some of the best guys I’ve ever worked with when it comes to setups and racing styles.  It seems the three of us are very close in those departments.  Although we each bring something different to the team it all seems to come together nicely.  So I would say we will be ready.

Anyone you would like to thank?

First of all I would like to thank my sponsor “Universal Funding” They have been hanging in there with us for some time now and we have a great relationship.  Both of my teammates Mike Steger and Mike Brazier.  I can’t say enough about those guys.  Week in and week out they help make it happen for our team.  Every member of the East Series for their great skills and making this one of the best places to race.  Thanks to Billy for the great league he has here.  Last but not least,  John Hayes and Al Rosemeyer for some great up front racing .  Lets keep the ball rolling and have a great rest of the season.

Thanks for your time Troy, and good luck next week!
