Chastity Sun Bono was born on March 4th, 1969.  She was given the name Chastity from the movie her mother made.  Cher said that she wanted to do something nice for Sonny, so she gave their daughter Sun for a middle name.  

While watching the movie, "Personal Best", Chastity realized that she was truly attracted to women.

She had attended a school in New York to help curve her acting  and directing abilities.

Chastity had fallen in love with her mom's friend, and continued to live with her until she had passed away of  non-Hodgkins lymphoma disease.

In 1993, the group "Ceremony - Hang Out Your Poetry" was released.  In the same year, Geffen had dropped them from the label.

During the making of, "Hang Out Your Poetry" the tabloid, Star, had announced Chastity's sexual orientation.  Chas had made the decision at that time, to deny her orientation.  For she didn't want it to have an kind of negative affect on the CD.

For her public coming out, Chastity had called upon the "Advocate" to cover the story.  

Chastity was offered a job working for the magazine.  For the edition with her mother, Cher was very professional about it.  She (Cher) acted as if it were not her daughter asking the questions, but someone else asking.  The article remains to be one still talked about.

During the filming of the Ellen show, Chastity had a the opportunity to do an article/review of it. Many people had mistaken what was said, and turned it out of context.  Chastity had apologized for what had happened, but Ellen still had hard feeling towards her afterwards.

It was shortly after this mess, that Chas left the "Advocate" magazine, and found something else to work at.  One of those projects is the book titled, "Family Outing".  For this project she interviewed many families for their input.  Along the way adding pieces of her coming out, and what her families reactions to it were.  
*I have the book, and had found it to be helpful.  Many friends of mine have borrowed the book, and found it helpful as well.  After realizing that, they didn't have to be afraid anymore.  

Chastity had continued to lay low for a period of time.  Coming out for Public Speaking engagements.

On January 5, 1998, Chastity had received a phone call notifying her of her father's unfortunate death. While skiing, the Late Senator, Sonny Bono (Salvatore Phillip Bono) was found dead.  Officials said the death was caused by him accidentally running off the slope and hitting a tree.  

After much thought, Chastity had decided to write another book.  The book is titled, "End of Innocence - A Memoir".  In this book she talks about her relationship with her band, her family & the lover that unfortunately passed away of non-Hodgkins lymphoma disease.

As of this year, Chastity has been taking it easy.  Taking time for her, her family, and her current partner in life.
