Learning, that's the reason for doing the College Program right? Of course it is. Keep telling yourself that and you won't have any fun. It's one of the top three reasons. Living, Learning, and Earning. What does the Learning aspect quite intale anyway? First you must know what your are looking for from Disney. There are 3 paths you can take. You can get a Certificate of merit. Complete all 7 core seminars You could get your Mousters Particapate in two additional Electives And then there is what I got My DUCK-torate Do at least an aditional 4 electives.
The first core semanar taught us the traditions of the Disney Corperation. Where we came from, how we got there, and where we were going.
The Second was an intro "Duck"tion to what we were about to learn.
The third expalined to us what leaders were made of and what Disney looks for when promoting with in the company
The fourth was about what makes a good cast member, what creates an excellent cast. For real time examples, check out the page on me and my friend Robbie
The fifth showed us what the guest wanted. How we could give it to them, and what to do when the guest did not experience the magic that they were hoping for.
The sixth and in my opinion most important seminar was on how to get results. What it takes to prove yourself and make a name for yourself. Be open, give the little nudge that makes you stick out above the rest.
The seventh Seminar is more of a graduation from the program. You get the ears and tassle you say goodbye and you take that bold step into the future....hand in hand. (Sorry I had to say it.)
Now the electives come in a varitey of diffrent forms. Among which include learning computer skills, Networking skillls, the inner workings of the corperation (events, catering, managers and how they got where they are) Cartoon logic, Languages, The trains in the Magic Kingdom, The signs on Main Street. and the list goes on. Enjoy it. Take classes on that which intrest you and can help you in the future...hand in, no I won't do it this time. (Of course it wouldn't make sence this time. |
