"1618, I would really like it if you weren’t so formal with me. We are such good friends, I don’t want my class to change that," I said.

"Alright, but first of all I am no longer 1618, I am now Aquine, Goddess of Water and Protector of all its Creatures.” Aquine blushed and she straightened her robe, “Everything seems so different now. I’m a Third Class goddess, and you’re a… well Lady… I mean Venus; you’re the Prophecy we have studied about. Doesn’t that seem strange to you?”

I smiled and embraced my dear friend Aquine in a tight and reassuring hug as I whispered softly in her ear, “Nothing will ever Change between us, we are the best of friends. I vow to you now, this is how is shall remain.”

I slowly released her from my embrace; tears were streaming gracefully from her eyes. Uncontrollably the tears began to swell up in my eyes like this was the end. Bit is wasn’t, we really had no idea of what was to become of us. Assignments would be given out tomorrow, and from there our lives would continue.

“Come on Aquine, Lets go find the others and head down to the celebration.” Aquine smiled as I said this, grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the Ceremonial Hall.

As we entered the Banquette Room Aquine yelled our across the Room, “Aura! Gaea!” Two girls, my other dear friends turned their heads swiftly towards Aquine and Myself. As we approached Aura and Gaea bowed politely.

“Stop it, I am no more superior than yourselves. Just remember all those times you bailed me out of trouble. “ I grimaced remembering the truth of my words.

“Lady Venus, How true that may be. I have always believed that “trouble” was your middle name. However the fact of the matter is, you are Lady Venus L. Ares, A prophecy, legend and a Goddess First Class.” Gaea replied in utter most sincerity. “That is how we must all treat you. There is no escaping that.”

I understood the truth that Gaea spoke, but I didn’t want anything to change among us. Ever since I could remember, we have all been friends. Why must everything change now that for some reason I have been chosen to be a prophecy? Whose to say that it truly is me? Lunare Said. Her word is always the final say. But I didn’t want to be different from the others. All I’ve ever wanted was to graduate with my friends and become a goddess. I didn’t ask for this. How hard would it have been to simply let me remain normal? However I am The Prophecy, The Chosen one, the one who now must set an example for the others. I don’t think that I am ready for this type of responsibility. Can they not all see how afraid I am? I am almost afraid to try; to make a mistake is to be a disappointment. What will happen if I let them down, what will they think of me then? “Hello Lady Venus!” Aura was frantically waving her hands carelessly in front of my face. With one swift movement she unintentionally smacked me in the nose. A mass amount of giggles suddenly burst from Aquine and Gaea as Aura apologized profusely. “Hmmmm,” I said slowly still half thinking about all that has happened. “Oh my, I am sorry everyone. It’s just that so much has happened today. It is so overwhelming.” “ The Banquette is almost coming to an end, I am going to assume that we are all as exhausted as the next.” Gaea said as she finished off her drink and set it down on the small round table that has been used as a deposit for everyone else’s used glasses.” I believe that it would be a good idea if we all retired for the evening. Tomorrow is supposed to be quite the day. Assignments will be given out at eleven o’clock tomorrow in the Main Auditorium…” “ …And we don’t want you to be late.” Aquine said with a satisfied smirk. “ That wouldn’t be a very good example to set for your dear friends. Would it Venus?” Lady Venus gave a small uneasy smile to her friends. She knew that there was no hiding the fear she held for the position that she had been given. Her friends knew her better that she even knew herself some days. All giving Venus a hugs and once again saying their congratulations they left. Venus was left standing alone in the banquette hall. Sadly she walked up to her room. Once inside Venus laid on her soft bed and Cried. She didn’t even bother to remover her formal clothes. Hours passed and Venus slept. The window to her room was open slightly, and in the midst of the night Venus awoke to the chill that had overtaken her body. She changed into her sleepwear and pulled her large warm blankets over herself. Once again Venus slept. Dreams of the past filled her head. For tonight only she would be able to remember the way things used to be. This was her way if saying goodbye to all that she knew and accepting the changes that will come in the future.
