Deep Eternal Yemaya
Flowing elemental powers who dwell in oceans, rivers and springs
Join our Circle and bring your gifts:
Blue energy to bathe us,
Rushing tides to give her courage.
Welcome, Water.

Fruitful Caring Demeter
Grounded elemental powers who dwell in caves, forests and groves

Invocation to the Goddess
Spoken by the Priestess and any who desire

O Goddess, we are Your Priestesses
Some of us have dedicated ourselves to You forever,
Some are still learning Your ways,
But in our minds, we all hold images of You
Our lips speak Your names
Our eyes behold You in every living thing
Our hearts are filled with love of You
Our arms embrace You in our sisters
Our loins delight in Your sacred pleasures
Out feet walk forever in Your ways
We gather in this magick Circle to welcome and honour You
And to call back Your ever-returning light

Light the black candle

Short guided meditation

All say:

I am the old one
I am the old year
I am the wise one
I am the dark one

I have been asleep
I have been failing
I have been out of date
I have been dreaming

Take a moment to feel the energies around you, follow the paths of your thought. Consider where you have been in this life and where you wish to go.
Light the first white candle from the black on and snuff the black candle. Each will then light her own candle from the flame of the first white candle.

All chant “Maaaaa” as the light grows.

Remove black garment and reveal or don white garment.

All say:

I see the new light
I see the shining one
I see what lies ahead
I see the young one.

I am the light one
I am the fresh one
I am the new year
I am the new one.

Planting Psychic Seeds

Priestess takes up the chalice, saying:

Tonight, we nurture our souls with spells for the year to come.
Let each sister charge this water with her hopes and plans.

Each woman in turn energizes the water with her visualization.
When the chalice has been passed around, the Priestess dips her fingers into the water and anoints the woman to her left, saying:


May you dwell ever with the Goddess
May the Goddess dwell ever with you
May the dream seeds you have planted
Take root, and flower, and come true…

The chalice is passed to the woman who was anointed and she anoints the woman to her left, until everyone in the circle has been blessed.

Reading of Vows

Anyone wishing to make or renew vows may read them now.

Sharing Wisdom

The talking bowl will be passed and anyone who has something to share will have time to do so.

Affirming the Mysteries
Spoken by the Priestess

Behold the all wise Goddess
As she resides in the Underworld
Great is the miracle of truths She had learned
For She had separated from Her Mother
And confronted Her immortal Self
And She has created life and form
With the power of Her own mind and desire
And with Her simple love
She has dissolved all undesired pain
Soon She will rise up once again
And with Her will come the Spring
Soon She will be reunited with the Mother
And we will welcome Her with joy…
So mote it be!
