Happiness
01/20/2001
Happiness is not an apple
you can reach,
Take a bite of its forbidden pleasure
As the lust of its insouciance drips down your chin.
Happiness is not a tree you can climb,
A victory achieved on the highest branch
As the scent of conquest fills the air
Happiness is not a penny you can find
A token to be saved for a rainy day
As dreams of eternal fortune fills your mind.
Happiness is a light you can find
A flame ignited only by your will
As its heat swaddles your heart
