| Hatched from an opal-like egg discovered in the South Pacific, Barugon was mutated after exposure from infra-red radiation. Appearing in Japan, Baragon eventually reached Osaka. Not necessarily a violent creature, Barugon only attacked when he felt threatened. When the JSDF attacked, Barugon became angry and started to level the city. Suddenly Gamera appeared and attacked Barugon. Using is chameleon-like tongue, the giant lizard was able to freeze his adversary. According to legend, Barugon can only be destroyed by using a special diamond to draw him into water where he'll vaporize. When the diamond was used to try and control him, Barugon went on another rampage because his mutation made him immune to the diamond's control. With no other choice the JSDF thawed out Gamera, who succeeded in dragging Barugon into a nearby lake. | ||||||||
