| Awakened by atomic testing, the first Godzilla rose from the sea and destroyed Tokyo. Attacking with a power not seen since World War II, the colossal reptile layed waste to the city. Though chased off by jets, the monster returned once again. This time the results were much more horrifying. In an effort to destroy the beast, Dr Serizawa was convinced by the people to use his latest invention on the monster. Disturbed that his invention may become an even greater threat than Godzilla, Serizawa destroyed all his notes. Taking the weapon out to sea where the monster was sleeping, Serizawa plunged below the depths with his invention in hand. Afraid that someone may eventually force him to tell the secret of his weapon, the good doctor decided to stay there and die alongside it. In the end, the deadly Oxygen Destroyer finally destroyed Godzilla. | ||||||||
