Vision of God

I awoke to find myself in a strange land. The sun, blinding at first, beat down upon upon my face. I started to look around to get my bearings when the world about me began to shrink at an alarming rate. But was the world shrinking? Or was I growing?

In seconds the planet that I had been so soundly sleeping on was nothing more than a pebble underfoot. All of a sudden I was floating in the emptiness of space. I kept looking directly at the sun that first greeted me refusing to let anything distract me. I may get lost and never find my way back.

But as I grew yet bigger, the one bright light that I called home was lost amongst a myriad of sparks that glistened every colour of the rainbow. I marveled at the purity of the light at the center and knew in my heart that this was the purest, whitest, light that I would ever see. Then a bolt of pure energy hit me in the chest. I screamed in pain and the light that had hypnotised me, began to fall away. Or was I growing again.

Again, as my field of view increased, I could see more and more of these orbs of light. But this time the patterns in them had new meaning for me. For as I continued to grow I saw that the energy spheres were becoming structured again like the galaxies that I seen before but this time more tightly packed. I could now see the connections between the spheres as they bumped and scraped each other sending sparks of energy in every direction. I was looking at a molecular structure.

My growth continued. I watched in awe as the molecules became living cells, which themselves gave way to formation of blood and bone, hair and skin.

I stared from behind newly formed eyes. The eyes looked in a mirror and I saw the face of God.
