1. B.Sc. Engg. (Civil)-1st Class; Punjab Engg. College, Chandigarh; Punjab Univ. Chandigarh-India; 1960 - 1964.
2. ME (Hydraulics, Irrigation & Dam Design) – Gold Medalist; Roorkee University (Now IIT), Roorkee, Utranchal, India; Thesis: 'A study of Periodic Pore Pressures in Rigid Porous Media.' Guide: Dr. H. C. Misra; 1964 - 1966
3. Technical Teacher Trainee: - Roorkee University (Now IIT), Roorkee, Utranchal, India; under the sponsorship as Senior Fellow from Ministry of Education, Gov't of India; 17th August,1964 to 6th January, 1967.
4. Ph.D; Regional Engineering College (Now NIT), Kurukshetra, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana; India; Thesis: 'A Study of Development of Unsteady Pore Pressures in Water Retaining Earth Structures under Dynamic Loading'; Guides: Dr. H. C. Misra from BITS Pilani & Professor B.K. Kaul from Regional Engineering College (Now NIT), Kurukshetra, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, Haryana; India; Registered on 14th December 1967; Thesis submitted on 13th December, 1973; awarded on 7th December, 1974
