Well, well..... was that a tour, was that a tour or what ???
First of all, thanks to my guests, especially Klaus for loading... Hanna for being sooooo nice and Renate for helping always.
I will make this "report" real short.
On the way to Perth my trailer, remember that old rotten thing ? decided to wear the bearings out...
Took me only 6 hours to get spares and repair it in 2C "heat".
Starting in Perth, the tour aimed for Darwin.
Hmmmmm where did you say my next beer is ?
All started pretty good..... if only the sun would have helped.... man it was soooo cold...
In the middle of Western Australia, the rain hit us... roads closed... mud all over, in one word sh!t hit the fan.
A road into the desert was closed until the morning I headed off. Police just opened that road, we made it.... was pretty easy actually.
Easy ? WHO said easy ?
My truck decided that he had enough and dropped the transfer case (in case you don't know that's real bad news).
Tow Truck... and to the next small village, Tom Price. We lost a full 24 hours...
Tourism is fun ! Yeah right !
Instead of having 3 days off in Broome, we continued the tour with a hire car.
Arriving in Broome 24 hours late, I just managed a bit sleep before driving off to return the hire car...
No problem, was only 1050 km (660 miles) back to Tom Price.
Little Sleep and back in my repaired truck to Broome.... 1050 / 660.
There goes my free time, grrrrrr
Hmmmmm where did you say my next beer is ?
The next day we aimed for the Kimberly's.
Did I say we ???
Well my trailer did not think so, he just dropped the fittings needed to attach the spring to the chassis.
$345 later it was all fixed...
A day later my truck thought it was his turn and broke the drive shaft protector...
Via radio I called for help and we got that fixed.
Only 160 km / 100 miles to go to our next night...
Only problem was the damn tyre, it just went kaputt !
No problem really...
Until I heard that huge kaaaaaaboooooom...
The bloody trailer again !
This time he dropped a wheel and performed a perfect 180 flip, landing on its roof.
Total write off.
With more help, we managed to reach the Outstation.
Hmmmmm where did you say my next beer is ?
This time without the trailer, dirty, dusty, hungry and thirsty.
After some drinks and a great BBQ (Thanks ELQ!) we went sleepy sleepy...
Guess what ?
The next day went actually ok.
The day after, that bugger....
1000 meters before leaving the dirt road.....
Bang ! there goes the next wheel.
Ok, ok back under the truck into the dirt and dust...
Fixed.
The last 1000 km / 660 miles went well.
Ghee I can hardly wait for my next trip !
noooooooot hahaaha
Well look here to see what tours are coming up next.
And just keep fingers crossed.
Hmmmmm where did you say my next beer is ?
