Otakon 2004
Baltimore, MD

Well Paige and I woke up bright and early to drive up to the Baltimore. We left the house around 7. We get at the convention around 9. The garage is of course full. I didn't want to drive around Baltimore all day looking for an overnight parking garage so I just parked valet. Which was pricy.

I had Dan's artwork, unmatted. So I go to the con, and in the line I decide that I want to frame it. So I go to Ritz Camera to see if they have anything they don't. The mat really didn't fit the picture how I liked it. So I just took the mat I had and bought posterboard from Wahlgreens and taped it.

After that I did go back to the Art Show and enter it in the Art Auction. It's a beautiful picture. It was in pencil and it did smear a bit. *x*. But I did learn some lessons by just watching the people there. I'll bullet these if anybody hasn't entered anyting in the auction or is stupid about art like me.

*Some artist had a clear film over the artwork to keep it coverd.
*or they had a covering then matted it.
*Some artist used like a sheet over the artwork til it would be displayed
*Acid free tape if you have to tape artwork to matt.
*Matted artwork looks 100% better.
*Frammed artwork looks 100% better than matted artwork.

Dan's artwork had a bid like late Saturday afternoon. But we didn't get to see it before the Art Auction ended. I asked a staff member if we could find out the final bid. But of course we couldn't, he said you'd have to wait for the check. So when Dan recieves his check we'll find out if it went more than $10.00.

Friday I don't call doing anything totally cool or exciting. We met our roommates. Geoff who was from Texas. And Ted who came from Cali. It was cool. We had fun.

Friday...hmm... We watched Boys Over Flowers. Which as another name Huri something Dango. It was so cute. Very cool.
I dressed in Ultraman. Had a lot of people come up to me and were like that's so kick ass. Or shot ULTRAMAN!!!! It's all the mask. Thanks to Lubatti Designs. I had people come up to me and were like that's an awesome costume. I told them I made the suit and the mask was professionally done. I feel like my sewing wasn't that well done on the suit. We are our worst critics. I wish I could have done better. But ppl enjoyed it. Ultraman is just a crowd pleasing whore. ^_^

I had one guy come up to me and was like omg! I so wanted to do Ultraman and you so beat me. He was like I'm so envious. Paige thought he was zealous. Animerica took my picture. Paige was like your so gonna be in the magazine. I dunno, but eh it's not that big. I just had so much fun.

Friday night watched the AMV music contest. It was awesome, some good videos some okay videos. I liked the German 101 done with Rammstein's Feur Fei. Plus a few others that I can't remember the titles.

Saturday
Saturday was cool. I mean the best part was when I got to dance with Godzilla in my Ultraman suit. Any other things.... Not that really remember. The cosplay was good. Jewish Wolfwood was so hilarous.
After the cosplay got to take pictures and get pictures taken of me. I liked probably the Muppet's cosplay. The one guitar playing cosplay was kick ass. Pissed they didn't announce the music video awards during that night.

Sunday
Uneventful really. Got an Alucard print, that made me happy. A girl at teh barn is really sick so I got her a Inu Yasha wall scroll. Her mom told me that was her favorite anime. I also got an Ultraman plushie that was so cute.

We got to eat at the SAkura at Glen Burnie. It was very good. I even got an employee discount. Had lots of fun. They are really nice there. The waitress wasn't all that great, but teh chef made up for it.

Go check out the pictures!
