Petshop of Horror
“I want you, I deserve you! What can she give you
that I can not?”
Count D looked at his clock for the fifteenth time with in
the last five minutes. He was late again, as he had been late for the last two
months.
“I’ll have to brake him off this new habit!” the Count
muttered as he went to warm up the tea.
“He’s not going to let this down!” said Detective Leon
“In here Detective!” D called form the backroom.
Leon walked in to the room and saw D coming in with the
warmed up tea.
“Please sit down Detective.”
Leon sat down and watched D’s movement careful, if D was
angry or annoyed he certainly didn’t show it, but then again when did he?
“I’m sorry I’m late Count. Here!” He handed over the
chocolate.
D’s eyes widen slightly and looked up amazed at Leon.
“Well Detective, you must be truly sorry for being late to
buy me such an expensive gift!”
“I am sorry D, I should have called…but something came up!
So I thought I’d make the effect this time”
“Oh? You chose these…not Jill?”
“Hey, Jill doesn’t always picks out what to get you!”
There was a pause for a while, and the count used the time
to pour out some tea and to study Leon. Leon’s long gold hair was undone form
it’s usual ponytail and had fallen down the side of his face. His blue eyes
were dark with a secret, and Count D felt sure he knew what it was.
“Why don’t you ask me Leon? Why don’t you ask me how I feel?
I know how you feel about me; I can read your eyes. You love me as I love you,
but you are the master of denial, you won’t admit it to me especially when you can’t
admit it to yourself.” D thoughts where interrupted when Leon cleared his
throat.
“D, I have something to tell you”
D’s back straightened and his eyes filled with a sudden hope
“Yes, Detective?
“Look D…I’ve been seeing someone…she and I…are engaged”
SMASH! D’s cup of tea fell to the floor when it had suddenly
fell form D’s fingers. D’s mouth had dropped in shock and his eyes widened
larger then usual. His lower lip started to tremble as his fell back in to his
chair as if all the air had left him. Leon? His Leon? Leon was with someone
else?
“D? Are you ok? D?” Leon called out to his and clicked his
fingers in fount of the Count.
D snapped out of his daze and looked at Leon with
uncertainty, then went back to his normal calm pose.
“Yes detective I’m fine. How…. how have you come to know
this woman?”
Leon looked at D confused for a moment and then leaned back
in to the sit.
“Over two months ago a woman came in to the station, she had
been badly beaten up, because her boyfriend had gone mad for some reason. She
was put under the police protection program and was actually put in to my care.
Well to cute along story short she and I got to know each other and been going
out.” Suddenly Leon blushed and smiled at the thought of her. D could feel the
jealously run though him and he did not like it.
“Are you sure these feelings are not out of sympathy for
this young woman?” he asked
“No, I’ve thought about that and I don’t think it is…”
“You think? Or you know? There is a great difference
detective”
“What are you getting at D? Don’t tell me your jealous?”
D looked down at his tea and refused to look up at Leon.
“You are Jealous!” There was a long pause and then Leon got
up and walked towards the door.
“Leon wait, please!” D jumped out of his chair and ran over
to Leon grabbing his arm.
“Let go D!” Leon shouted but D’s grip tightened
“No Leon, you must listen to me! You will listen to me!”
Suddenly Leon was spun around and forced to look at the
Count, whose eyes were burning with anger, pain and passion. The heat form
those eyes were burning him and so he tried to look away, but found he could
not.
“I…” D took a deep breath and sighed “ I care deeply for you
Leon, I will not, Can not allow you to go to this woman, just because you think
you love her!”
“I don’t think, I…
“You’re not sure of what you want, are you?” sighed D as he
moved his hands up to cup Leon’s face. Leon closed his eyes and a tear
threatened to drop.
“Leon…Leon please look at me” D whispered in to Leon’s ear
but Leon’s eyes remain closed, he would not cry in fount of the Count. Suddenly
the count let go of Leon’s face and sighed.
“I can not stop you for leaving Leon, But I ask you to think
your feelings though, before you make a commitment that you can’t keep!”
Leon looked at the Count and then turn to the door. He
paused be for leaving but could not bring himself to look back. D heard the
door close and slumped in to his chair in despair, Q-chan perched next to him
on the chair’s arm and squeaked at D.
“Don’t be silly Q-chan! Leon will make the right choice!
He’ll come back to me!”
