1.0 Introduction

Hello, welcome to this guide that attempts to accurately keep all
of the promotional events (which is very commonly asked list on
the message boards) in track and give a nice idea of how to handle
them if you ever come near them.

First off let me say that this guide is an on-going effort until
Nintendo stops supporting Ruby and Sapphire (which will be when
the next series comes along).

Second, let me explain that Pokemon has a promotional system far
different than any other games on the market. Several events are
reserved for secret promotions and others are not even planned
(like some of the special moved pokemon).

Third, let me state that it helps to have Mystery Event activated.
I'll explain it now.

Step 1: Collect at least 5 Gym Badges.
Step 2: Go to the POKEMON CENTER in PETALBURG CITY.
Step 3: Talk to the man sitting next to the computer.
Step 4: When he asks if you would like to make a new profile
select "YES."
Step 5: Change the profile to read
MYSTERY EVENT
IS EXCITING
(you can get these words with ease if you press thee "SELECT"
button and pick based alphabetically)
Then hit "OK"
Step 6: You should get a confirmation message.

Save and turn off the power. Notice the new menu, "Mystery
Event"? It lets you download special ecards or other promotions.

Fourth, because of compatibility between U.S. and Japanese
cartridges promotions from one are legal in the other.

2.0 EON Ticket

EON Ticket is a really neat item, that brings you to Southern
Island (kind of like the Celebi trick from Pokemon Crystal except
its obtainable :) ) (gameshark doesn't count). On Southern Island
you will encounter a Latios or Latias who will be holding an item
called Soul Dew. In addition its nice to know you've been
Southern Island.

So heres what you do once you have OBTAINED the EON Ticket, which
you might need to receive from your father, read about that later.

Step 1: Show the EON Ticket in LILYCOVE CITY (not Slateport) and
board the ferry to Southern Islands.
Step 2: Follow the path to the monument (if you manage to get
lost, you are probably unable to read this so don't even bother).
Step 3: Save in front of the monument.
Step 4: Fight/Capture the Latios or Latias.
        Latias in Ruby
        Latios in Sapphire

The Pokemon you battle is lv. 50, has Recover and Soul Dew
equipped so it will be a challenge. Luckily it can't use Refresh
so you could infest it with an ailment.

Soul Dew is an item that boost the Special Attack AND Special
Defense of Latios or Latias as long as it is equipped.

2.1 E3

The Nintendo booth at E3 gave out EON Ticket e-cards. Shaped like
tickets these could be scanned to trigger the event. You would
receive EON Ticket from your father.

2.2 Pokemon Center New York

The Pokemon Center New York gave out EON Tickets through a special
form of Mystery Gift. Employees had special cartridges which when
you activated Mystery Gift, allowed you to receive an EON Ticket
from your father.

2.3 Future Plans

www.pokemon-games.com has stated in July EON Ticket e-cards will
be given out so we have to wait for that.

2.4 Spread the Love!

The EON ticket, unlike Celebi or Mew, is meant to be spread. In
fact it lets you spread them but there is a bit of a control over
distribution in the fact that 2 qualifications must be meant.

A You received your ticket through an event and not via a
really kind friend.
B You haven't sent out too many (100 is the limit I was told
about by a Pokemon Center Employee).

Also to ensure that you don't give away tickets when you don't
want to a check system has been placed. The side of the link
cable you use determines this, for this section I am using based
upon the official Nintendo link.

The Sender of the EON Ticket has the purple or skinny tip
The Receiver of the EON Ticket has the grey or fat tip

Turn on both gameboys with the links and cartridges appropriately
placed. Go to the Pokemon Center and mix the records. The
receiver should get a confirmation after it says that the link was
successful.

3.0 Pokemon Center New York

This store has the capability to give promotional products but
currently has only distributed EON Tickets because of problems
with there machines.

These Pokemon will have a ribbon that states they come from the
Pokemon Center New York.

4.0 Pokemon Center in Japan

These stores have started giving out special Pokemon. I am
currently researching into the list of items.

These Pokemon will have a ribbon stating which of the 3 centers it
came from.
