Jason Scott Katmahl - Personality

General Personality Jason is an independant individual in many ways, yet yearns to be part of a group. He isn't like many other people and he lets that get to him, preventing him from getting close to people. He's afraid of rejection. He has come to terms with both being gay and being a mutant, but is afraid of what others will say or do, so he keeps both mostly hidden tightly away.
He's not one to initiate an attack, but he is an aggressive person if he was attacked. To him there is no such thing as a fair fight and he will not hesitate to play dirty. He does, however, usually refrain from using his powers unless he thinks he can use it to escape.
While not viewing normal humans as inferior or anything, he does hold a contempt for them. He sees it as their fault that mutants are driven into hiding. Just for being different. He doesn't think it's fair, and fairness is important to him. Justice, or his own concept of it at least, is one of his prime guidelines in life. And in his view the authorities make a mockery of Justice. Injustices toward him are usually met with retaliation, though he's not stupid enough to always do it immediately. He often just takes it then seeks 'Justice' later at a more convenient time and place.

Loner He still has a lot of stuff on his mind and emotions left lingering. Was running the best decision? Or should he have stayed and worked things out? He is reluctant to make bonds or friendships despite his want to belong. His wandering is a result of that. Make no connections and move on before suspicions can form and hold. And before bonds form and people become more interested in him as a person.

Loyalty He is loyal to those he has befriended and would knowingly do nothing to put his friends in danger. He would fight both life and death to save a friend. Despite reluctance to accept it, and despite his reluctance to trust, he has formed a few friendships recently.

Justice/Vengeance He has a sense of Justice that many might call vengeance. Especially since it mostly only applies to wrongs he sees against him. Though it would definately apply to wrongs against his friends as well.

Humans Being a mutant, and having seen mutants in the past shunned and killed for simply being a mutant and otherwise being nice and good people, he has a certain view on the humans who did this. While not seeing them as inferior like many mutants, he just has a general mistrust of humans. He is afraid to let them know he is a mutant because of the reaction it may provoke. He doesn't hate them. On a similar note, he refuses to use his mutant ability if it would work to expose him, unless he thinks he can get away by using it.
