As Derik and Kat worked outside, Witch was leading Van and Lance to a large ballroom. Witch led them to a large pair of doors and stopped, she then placed both her hands on them and they slowly opened. Inside there were brooms and other cleaning utensils that moved by themselves to clean up the messy ballroom? "I had a party last night and you two are here to clean it. When you finish, go to the garden and there will be wheat bundles that you will need to put in the cellar" said Witch as she pushed the boys inside and shut the doors. "This is going to take forever, said Van as he grabbed one of the brooms and began to sweep. "I bet she making us do this because you said that you only wanted to come because you were low on cash, replied Lance as he grabbed a rake and began to drag it across the floor to pick up the trash. "That's most likely it but why is she make you clean?" asked Van as he dumped a load of trash. "Because I agreed with you" replied Lance as he dumped his load, Van nodded and the two began to work quietly. *** Kat stood up and began to gently walk through the garden to make sure that she had gotten all the weeds, when she was satisfied she walked out of the garden and began to look for Derik. When she spotted him, he looked as if he had become trigger-happy but only with a scythe and not a gun. She smiled as she shook her head and jogged into the freshly cut field. As she watched him cut, it seemed that whenever enough wheat was cut; it suddenly became bundled. By the time Kat had reached Derik, the son of the Grim Reaper had finished with the whole field. "Wow, I didn't know that you could work that fast" said Kat. "I didn't know that I could do it either, replied Derik as his scythe disappeared. "Hmm, I think that we should go tell Witch that we finished with the outside, said Kat as Derik nodded, but when Kat turned to start to leave the field she heard a meow. She looked down to see a white cat with a plate floating behind it, and on the plate were two glasses. One was filled with water another was filled with a dark red substance. "I think this is yours, said Kat as she handed Derik the blood filled glass. Derik quickly snatched the glass and drank it with such a lust that Kat raised an eyebrow; she then shook her head and drank her water. When she finished she set her glass back on the plate and Derik did the same with his glass when he finished it. The cat meowed and took off running back to the house with the plate tailing after it. The two made their way back to the house to find Van and Lance there. "You two wouldn't know where some wheat bundles would be, would you?" asked Van as he started to pant. "Yah, they're over there" said Derik as he turned and pointed at the large pile of bundled wheat, the two boys groaned at the large pile when they saw it. "You two look a little tired, how about I do some of it till you two don't look like your about do die" replied Kat as the two quickly brightened up and then fell to the ground from exhaustion. "I'll go see if I can get you two a drink, said Derik as he floated to the house and entered. Kat smiled as she shook her head and made her way to the wheat bundles, she then stopped in front of the pile and held out her left arm. Suddenly many metal cables and chains shot out of her arm and wrapped around the large pile, when they were tight she then reeled in the slack. She then placed her left arm under the pile and heaved; it came up easily for with a robotic arm ones strength was endless. Holding her right arm out for balance she slowly began to make her way to the cellar. Using her feet, she was able to open the doors. She then stepped back and removed the chains and cables. She tilted the pile forward and into the cellar, when all of it was in she walked down the stairs to see if it all went to the right spot. She nodded in satisfaction to find that it all did, instead of it covering to whole room it laid in a single jar on a shelf. When Kat was above ground again she closed the doors and jogged back to the house, she found that the three boys were nowhere to be found. She then slipped inside and began to look for them and Witch. She couldn't tell how long she had searched the house but she was just about to leave when she spotted Witch. "Witch have you seen the guys?" asked Kat as she approached the woman. "Yes, I sent them home" she replied. "But why?" asked the cyborg. "Because the wheat has magical properties, for the more of it you hold the more time for you slows down. Right now it is night, you started at noon, replied Witch. "Oh, I didn't know that, said Kat as she started to turn. "Wait, since it is night and the day of your element, I was wondering if you could go and pick something up for me?" asked Witch as she opened a drawer and began to look for something. "Sure, but what's my element?" asked Kat as she began to tinker with her left arm. "Its a rare element for someone like you to have and I can't remember anyone else having it for your element is shadow. Ah here it is" said Witch as she lifted up a pink piece of paper and handed it to Kat. "I'm sure that you can figure out where to go for the address is on there, added Witch as Kat took the paper. "Sure, I can find this" replied Kat as she sat down and pushed a button on her left arm and a digital map appeared. She then began to search for the address listed on the paper. |
