I stripped the interior of all trim and removed the dash and red "shag" carpeting. I recovered the headliner with thin carpeting, repaired the passenger-side floor and painted the floor with Zero-Rust. The original rear window shelf had been cut out, so I tack-welded a new piece in and found a perfect package tray with speaker slots, for an original look.
I dyed the rear seats black and found good used donor cushions to replace the bad sections in my buckets, then dyed them black too.
I found a correct console and tack-welded in correct shifter brackets (which had been removed), installed new speakers front and rear. I also installed a factory cassette stereo from a 95 minivan (which is a perfect fit) looks like it was always there and sounds great! I've also installed a near-perfect Tuff wheel and dash pad, door panels, a map light setup, remote hood-release setup and new heater core.
I reinstalled the dash, heater box and trim, and I have a new carpet, but I'm waiting until the painting is done before I install that.
