Chapter One* Too Much For One Night

"Hey Brian, what are you staring at?" Kevin asked Brian.

Brian ignored him and nodded.

"What is wrong with you? I have not seen you dance since we got here."

Still Brian kept quiet even with the loud dance music in the background. He just sat there with his drink in his hand and a small black cellular phone in the other hand. It was like talking to a brick! He then moodily turned his head and began to drink. It became apparent to Kevin that he wanted him to leave.

"Aye, hold my jacket then!"

Kevin threw a suede jacket at Brian's chest and disappeared into the dark crowd. Brian couldn't care less how Kevin or anyone else felt at that moment. He started to think about all that's happened to him last week. He had just found out that Nick and Leigh had an affair behind his back. They got into a big fight and Leigh wanted out, meaning she wanted a divorce. Brian never felt so hurt and confused. He felt as he was handed a test and he was failing but he did not know why. This made Brian drink more and more until finally he decided to leave. He left
Kevin's jacket on the floor and went home. Kevin pushed his way through the
crowd of dancing people. He approached the half empty bar and saw that
Brian had left. He spotted Nick, AJ, and Howie sitting at a table. Kevin called
the group but they could not hear him. He walked over to the table.

"Guys, have you seen Brian? He had a pretty bad attitude. Oh yeah, he had my
jacket too!"

Everyone sat there quietly.

"Does anyone know why he was upset?"

AJ responded, "Em, you did not know?"

Kevin knew something as this was going on.

"No, I didn't know. What's up?" Kevin took a seat next to Nick.

"Nick had something going on with Leigh. Brian found out, so now they're divorcing."

Kevin looked at Nick who was now melting in his seat.

"Why? Do you know this is going to affect the rest of the group?"

Nick folded his arms on the table and rested his head on them. Howie stood up after finishing his drink.

"This is weird and I'm going home. Nick, I think you should talk to him and stay away from Leigh, please?"

Nick did not know if he could do that, but he knew he had to get Leigh out of his head. He knew that if he talk to his friends about it they would tell him to get over it and that it meant nothing to neither of them. Nick felt a heavy hand on his shoulder. It was Kevin.

"Are you sure you don't know where my jacket is?", he said looking around the club.

Nick began to think. It all began at a hotel in Prague. Brian and Leigh Anne had been married for only a few months and the marriage looked shaky. Brian and Leigh had been arguing for at least two hours, a record time for the two. The rest of the group listened to them yell about nothing. They have never seen Brian so upset. Finally, when the fight ended Brian ran out of the room. No one knew where he went that night. Nick could hear Leigh Anne crying and thought that she might need some company. It was typically Nick that he would be concerned.

He knocked on the door, "Leigh, do you wanna talk about it?"

Leigh quickly opened the door when she noticed it was Nick. They were always very close
before, but nothing could prepare them for what happened next.
