The Rules

Well, then, if you're here, this must mean you want to enter your fanfic(s) to the 2003 Golden Rose Awards. All you need to do is follow these simple rules (trust me, they aren't hard ^_^). Every single entry the judges receive is much appreciated. Remember, this isn't for some life-altering recognition. This is for fun and to show off your best written fanfiction.

The rules here must be complied with in order to enter your story (or stories). First, pick your category (or categories) which you feel best fits your fanfic. This is such a big help for the judges, so please make sure you follow this rule!

Submission: This is very similar to submitting your fanfics to any fanfiction archive. When you submit your fanfic (or fanfics), it would be very considerate of you to include the following in your email to us:

  • Your pen name (or name)
  • Email address
  • Title of story
  • The category or categories in which you would like to enter (preferably multiple categories)
  • An attachment of your fanfic and all it's chapters, if applicable. That or a link to your fanfic would work as well if you cannot send attachments.

You can select the categories in which you feel your story qualifies for from this list (click here). Again, you are highly encouraged to enter your fanfic in as many categories as you feel it qualifies. This increases the chances of your fanfic (or fanfics) to win an award. Even submitting for multiple genres is encouraged if your fanfic has it.

Fanfics can be entered by either the author or by anyone who wishes to enter it. If you are entering another authors' fanfic, please, please get their permission before you submit it! Entries (just like most archives) must be a .txt (text) format. It would be wonderful if they were wrapped as well. (70 characters per line is an acceptable number) Please relay all submissions to goldenroseawards@yahoo.com. Or, you can choose to send a submission to any active reviewer at Redhawke FR. Only completed fanfic(s) will be accepted.

The deadline is November 1st, 2003.

Best wishes to all who participate in this year's awards!

**Judges and submissions: Any judge for the Golden Rose Awards is eligible to enter, however, they cannot submit their own stories. Someone else may enter for them, and, upon judgement, they will not be allowed to judge their own fanfic(s).
