Every June, Golden Threaders and their women friends converge in Provincetown, MA where we celebrate what we are and our age. GOLDEN THREADS is a worldwide friendship network for Lesbian women over 50, including younger women - no woman is excluded because of age - Lesbians through their eighties, nineties and yes, 100 (our beloved icon, Ruth Ellis, loved attending the annual celebration) enjoy the Celebration.

The 17th Annual GOLDEN THREADS Celebration will take place at the Provincetown Inn on June 19-22, 2003. The Inn is on a point of land at the tip of Cape Cod with the Atlantic Ocean on three sides. Provincetown, affectionately called P'town by the many Lesbians who live and visit there, is known for its charm and its history. This is a town where we can openly be ourselves ...the streets are ours, the town is ours, free to be who we are.

The GOLDEN THREADS Celebration BEGINS AT 12:00 NOON on June 19th, 2003 and will include workshops and a Thursday afternoon special get-acquainted right-away party around 4 P.M.! However, Ubaka Hill's Drum workshop will begin early (around 1:30 P.M.). So, bring your drum, attend this fantastic workshop and be a part of Ubaka Hill and her Shapeshifters performance on Friday night! The White Hat Ladies will be there to assist you and explain details!! Thursday's evening entertainment (starting at 8:00 P.M.) is The Queen of Comedy, SUZANNE WESTENHOEFER. Friday evening is Ubaka Hill & her Shapeshifters percussion, poetry, song making drum magic with the celebrants ...requested by popular demand! Not only will these entertainers provide you a full evening's entertainment, but Ubaka Hill directs a drumming workshop on Thursday to include participants in Friday's performance! This isn't all: On Saturday afternoon, Provincetown's very own National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Award Winner, Marjorie Conn will be performing in the large Mayflower Room by popular demand! And Saturday Night is our very own Mary V, DJ (9th year with us) at our famous dinner/dance/Banquet.

Golden Threaders (and you are one the moment you step into this celebration) as others have done through the years in past celebrations can also arrange their own beach parties, barbecues, bike rides and wanderings through the Lesbian shops in town! Don't forget our special picnic on Friday at noon! Just fill your plate with all those delicious choices and you may eat in doors, out on the green, on the beach or by the pool!

However, MEMBERSHIP in GOLDEN THREADS (the Contact Publication) IS NOT REQUIRED to attend our yearly celebrations ...ALL LESBIANS ARE WELCOME.

Many women return every year, and make the Celebration the center of their vacation by extended stays after the Celebration. Many of us are already planning the G. T. Celebration stay-over! Attendance is by reservation only and is limited to 250 women. Reservations may not be made through your travel agent or by contacting Provincetown Inn ...only through GOLDEN THREADS. Our advertising packet with hotel and GOLDEN THREADS registration forms will be mailed out via U. S. Post at the end of February 2003.
