GoldExI : FAQ : IVC details delays

Question

How exactly GoldExI measures each point of IVC? What are the delays? How are they related to averaging?

Answer

For each point on the IVC GoldExI does the following:

Sets all sweep1 current(s) to appropriate value,
Waits N ms (Options|Delay|Delay after Sweep1 is set)
Reads the values of all virtual voltages V_n which are declared as 'Positive' or 'Negative'. (function GetVoltage)
Reads the value I of the first sweep1 virtual current current. (function GetCurrent). For example, if you have virtual currents 3, 7, and 11 declated as +sweep, +sweep, -sweep, the value of virtual current 3, will be read.
Saves all V_n(I) to corresponding curves in memory.
Shows measured values in the proper fields of measurement window, but only if k milliseconds passed. k is an interactivity parameter in Options|Delays
Goes to the next point of IVC

The averaging is performed inside the GetVoltage() and GetCurrent() functions.

For the very first point of the IVC, after setting the sweep1 currents (the first step above), GoldExI can wait longer (at the 2nd step of the above procedure). This longer delay can be set in Options|Delay|Delay after the current jumps at the 1st point
